Kirari
Lift your gaze to the sky above,
and lower it to find the mountains glowing in green.
Crafted from strongly twisted silk threads and tsumugi,
this piece offers a distinctive, rich texture.
Though woven in a plain weave,
subtle irregular patterns emerge through the weaving itself, creating a refined sense of movement.
Unami
Technique: Kasuri Weaving / Eba Pattern
The quiet flow of white waves reflects the glow of the setting sun, marking the passage of time.
This piece captures a fleeting moment of ever-changing scenery,
woven with a deep sense of care and appreciation.
Through the shades of Akane — a color born from nature —
we hope each viewer is inspired to reflect and discover their own meaning.
Konohanasakuya-hime
Technique: Benibana (Safflower) Dyeing / Sukui Weaving
Inspired by the harmony of sakura dye and safflower dye,
this piece is named after a goddess renowned for her unparalleled beauty.
The design reflects the image of a deity said to bloom brilliantly like cherry blossoms,
only to fall as fleetingly as they appear.
We invite you to observe the subtle transformations in color —
as the sakura motif, dyed with safflower, continues to reveal its living beauty over time.
Hana Saijiki – Shikon
Technique: Honmawata Silk / Kasuri Weaving
In the history of Japanese color, purple has long been regarded as the most noble hue.
Derived from the roots of the murasaki plant, this color continues to embody elegance even today.
Due to the rarity of the dye, it is carefully applied each year using the refined Kanzome (winter dyeing) technique.
We invite you to experience the graceful beauty of Shikon dye,
with its subtle depth and gentle, lingering fragrance.
A Spring Evening
Yonezawa, located in southern Yamagata, is known for its cold, snowy winters.
This piece expresses the joy of spring as the snow melts, revealing a gentle spread of color.
Woven from hand-spun silk tsumugi, it offers a soft, comforting texture,
with over 20 colors carefully arranged in the warp threads.
Mai
A moment wrapped in mist, within quiet stillness.
At first glance, it appears as a single solid color,
yet upon closer view, a rich depth of tone emerges.
The warp threads are lustrous silk,
while the weft is hand-spun silk tsumugi,
creating a fabric that feels soft and warm,
yet retains the elegant sheen of silk.
AKANE location

and surrender to the beauty of Kyoto.
With the guidance of dedicated staff, each moment is carefully captured — layering brilliance and stillness with the changing light.

Itogiku (Thread Chrysanthemum)
Since ancient times, the chrysanthemum has symbolized nobility, longevity, and prosperity in Japanese culture.
“Itogiku” expresses this elegant motif through delicate threads.
The fabric features Matsuoka-hime, one of Japan’s finest cocoons, used in the weft.
Its supple texture and refined luster enhance the wearer’s presence with quiet sophistication.
Carefully ground-dyed, the design follows the natural flow of the fabric,
with intricate embroidery in silver and colored threads extending from above the knee to the outer sleeve.
The silver threads catch the light with a soft glow,
adding depth and distinction to the chrysanthemum motif.
Paired with different obi, this piece can be styled for a wide range of occasions —
from formal settings to graceful celebrations.
A truly special garment,
created to accompany life’s most memorable moments,
imbued with elegance and auspicious meaning.

Hanagi
The fabric is crafted from high-quality hitokoshi chirimen,
woven from carefully selected domestic silk cocoons.
Its supple texture and refined sheen enhance a soft, feminine elegance.
The design reinterprets cherry blossom petals,
capturing their graceful movement as they drift through the air.
A motif deeply rooted in the Japanese heart,
elevated into a refined and timeless pattern.
For the stencils, traditional Ise-katagami are used,
each one hand-carved by artisans — over twenty layers in total.
These are carefully overlaid, and each motif is dyed by hand using a shike-bake brush.
This represents one of Kyoto’s most classical dyeing techniques,
imbuing the piece with depth and a quiet sense of refinement unique to hand craftsmanship.
Suitable not only for special occasions,
but also for formal settings,
this is a piece where tradition and aesthetic sensibility truly come to life.

Sakura Honoka (Soft Sakura Glow)
Technique: Sukui Weaving
To admire cherry blossoms in bloom is to feel the changing seasons of Japan —
a moment that gently soothes the heart.
As winter fades and spring quietly arrives,
the blossoms carry a message of renewal and hope.
This piece was created with the wish that such feelings continue to be passed on through time.
Dyed from cherry blossoms, the color Tokiwairo reflects a soft, luminous hue —
as if the blossoms themselves are expressing their desire to bloom.

Sakura Honoka – Twilight
Technique: Sukui Weaving
At twilight, as the day of cherry blossoms fades into the night,
a fleeting contrast emerges — where brilliance and quiet allure intertwine.
This moment cannot be held still —
a true once-in-a-lifetime scene.
Through the harmony of Tokiwairo, dyed from cherry blossoms,
and soft lavender threads dyed with Shikon,
this piece captures the colors of twilight through weaving.

Kanzome /benibana Premium Plan
Safflower (Benibana), the official flower of Yamagata Prefecture,
is sown in April, with its first delicate bloom appearing quietly around early July.
By the following day, fields are filled with vibrant yellow blossoms.
Due to the sharp thorns, the flowers are carefully hand-picked at dawn,
when the morning mist softens their touch. They are then washed and patiently matured to become a precious dye.
Although prepared in summer, the dye reveals its true brilliance when applied in winter.
Through repeated dyeing and drying, layer upon layer,a deep crimson — kurenai — is brought to life.
The threads, made from strongly twisted silk, offer a smooth texture, while the interplay between warp and weft creates a subtle iridescence,
shifting like the colors of a jewel beetle. The woven structure gently expresses cherry blossom petals
drifting softly and gracefully in the wind.A truly rare piece —with only two in existence in Japan.
